Role overview This organisation is entering a business-critical stage of its SAP S4HANA transformation journey and requires an experienced SAP S4HANA Solution Architect to provide strategic and architectural leadership. This is an early-stage engagement focused on shaping the SAP roadmap, defining the target-state architecture, and supporting the Head of Product in developing and communicating the transformation strategy across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Partner with the Head of Product to define and mature the 12–36 month SAP roadmap.
Assess the current SAP S4HANA and enterprise landscape and identify risks and opportunities.
Develop the target-state solution architecture across applications, integrations, data, security, and reporting.
Establish architecture governance, design standards, and decision-making frameworks.
Translate business requirements into high-level solution designs.
Support prioritisation and sequencing of transformation initiatives.
Provide architectural oversight across SAP projects and change initiatives.
Define integration principles across SAP and non-SAP platforms.
Support business case development and executive-level presentations.
Identify technical and delivery risks and recommend mitigation actions.
Required experience
8+ years’ experience in Solution Architecture / Enterprise Architecture.
Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP rise transformation programmes.
Strong knowledge of SAP BTP, Integration Suite, Fiori, and Analytics.
Experience in early-stage transformation environments where roadmap definition was a key responsibility.
Strong stakeholder management skills with senior business and technology leaders.
Good understanding of integration architecture, master data, security, and governance.
Desirable
Experience in transport, public sector, or asset-intensive organisations.
Familiarity with Agile product delivery and portfolio planning.
Experience supporting organisational change and transformation planning.
