System Engineer, Dublin, Contract

We are seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to own the maintenance, integrity, and deployment pipelines across our development and production environments (Dev, UAT, and Prod).
In this role, you will bridge the gap between core infrastructure and application teams. While a dedicated infrastructure team spins up and hands over the base environments, your mission is to take the wheel from there—configuring the application layer, maintaining environment integrity, updating drivers, and managing the build/deploy pipelines to safely promote code into production.

*6 month contract to start with but expected to roll/extend
*3 days onsite per week
*550-750 per day depending on experience level

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and maintain lower-level environments (Dev, UAT) through to Production. Ensure environments remain stable, consistent, and correctly configured.
• Be the go to person on the server side for application-specific needs. Perform server-side installations, update drivers, and configure settings to ensure specific applications run smoothly.
• Maintain and optimize the deployment pipeline to ensure seamless code promotion across environments.
• Successfully take over newly spun-up environments from the core Infrastructure team and configure them for application readiness.
• Keep a close eye on environment health, performance, and integrity to proactively catch issues before they impact teams.

Requirements: 

• Strong hands-on experience administering both Windows Server and Linux environments (installing software, configuring settings, server-side troubleshooting).
• Deep experience with IIS (Internet Information Services) and managing Windows Services.
• Practical experience with Jenkins for pipelines, and Ansible / Ansible Tower for configuration management and automation.
• Experience supporting environments running Java-based applications.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with Dynatrace or similar APM tools.
• Familiarity with Splunk for troubleshooting and reporting.
• Experience generating environment health and deployment reports.
