Lead Product Owner – Payments (Technical / SME)

Are you a payments expert who can bridge the gap between complex business requirements and engineering delivery?
We’re looking for a Lead Product Owner with deep payments domain knowledge to take ownership of our Payments platform — leading delivery, shaping strategy, and mentoring a team of Scrum Product Owners.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the heart of a fast-moving financial services environment.
🏦 What You’ll Be Doing

• Owning end-to-end delivery for the Payments domain, acting as the go-to Payments SME
• Leading and mentoring two Scrum Product Owners, ensuring backlog quality and delivery readiness
• Translating business, regulatory and operational needs into well-defined epics, features and stories
• Driving SAFe PI Planning, dependency management and cross-team coordination
• Engaging directly with architects and engineers on technical feasibility
• Balancing business value, regulatory requirements and technical constraints to make timely, informed decisions

💳 What You Know
You’ll bring hands-on expertise across:

• ✅ End-to-end payments processing — initiation, validation, clearing, settlement, reconciliation
• ✅ ISO 20022 / XML payment formats — PAIN, PACS, CAMT
• ✅ Batch and real-time processing models
• ✅ REST APIs, Kafka/MQ architectures and integration patterns
• ✅ Regulatory and compliance requirements in payments

🎯 What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years as a Product Owner or Technical BA in payments or banking
• Proven experience in a Lead PO or senior delivery leadership role
• Strong background in Scaled Agile / SAFe environments including PI Planning
• Excellent stakeholder communication across Business, Risk, Compliance and Technology
• A collaborative, decisive approach in complex and ambiguous environments
