Map Viewer – Geospatial Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a specialised focus on Geospatial and GIS systems to lead a critical system implementation within the utilities sector. This is a high-impact, day-rate contract role delivered through a leading consultancy.

Role Overview

  • Role Type: Day-Rate Contract
  • Duration: Initially 6 months (Strong likelihood of extension)
  • Location: Hybrid (Cork or Dublin)
  • Sector: Utilities (Consultancy side)
  • Key Focus: Delivering end-to-end mapping and GIS system solutions.

As the Geospatial Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful IT delivery of a “Map Viewer” project. You will act as the bridge between technical GIS teams, data specialists, and external vendors to ensure seamless system integration and data migration.

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Delivery: Lead the full lifecycle delivery of geospatial and map system projects.
  • System Implementation: Manage the deployment of complex GIS platforms and system integrations.
  • Data Migration: Oversee the transition of critical asset data into new mapping environments.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with third-party software providers to ensure milestones are met.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate technical project progress to both IT and business leadership within the utilities space.

Requirements & Experience
We are looking for a PM who speaks the language of GIS and understands the nuances of Geospatial data.

Core Essentials:

  • Proven track record as an IT Project Manager delivering technical solutions.
  • Direct experience with GIS / Geospatial projects and Map Systems.
  • Hands-on experience with System Integration and Data Migration projects.
  • Strong Vendor Management skills.

Technical “Nice to Haves”:

  • Experience with ArcGIS or similar geospatial software.
  • Previous experience in the Utilities sector.
  • Familiarity with Asset Management Systems.
