Principal Engineer – Data – Dublin/Hybrid
 
Our client is a renowned multinational provider of Big Data solutions in managing large scale media based analytics (with transactions in the billions on a daily basis), allowing their customers to make informed decisions about digital spend, reach and safety concerns.
 
Due to continued success they are expanding their Dublin based operation and has partnered with IT Search to engage Senior (Staff) level Engineers with significant Big Data experience, in depth programming skills (Java at a Principal/Staff level) and various “Big Data” tools.
 
The role:

• Joining a team of highly experienced and dedicated Engineers here and globally, the role is to create and manage aggregation pipelines of significant size within analytics and various mediums (digital, video etc.)
• Utilising deep Java development skills as well as tools such as Spark/Kafka and MapReduce/Hadoop
• Mentor team members and be part of the overall lifecycle, being involved in QA and other areas when appropriate

 
The requirements:

• 10+ years of commercial development experience (Java), Microservices and related areas
• At least 5 years of working within very large datasets, pipeline building and using various frameworks for this purpose
• Ideally full lifecycle development experience as well as working alongside Cloud Engineers/DevOps Departments (AWS knowledge a bonus
• Additional skills of benefit would be knowledge of Data Pipeline Orchestration, Messaging, Streaming
