We are seeking a confident Python Engineer to play a pivotal role in the end-to-end design and delivery of critical financial platforms for a major global investment bank. This role combines hands-on application development with architectural responsibilities, focusing on building high-performance systems and complex ETL pipelines across key trading desks.
*6 month contract to start with but this is expected to roll/extend (for years) *3 days on site per week, 2 days flexible for home or office – your choice *Daily rate 550-700 per day depending on experience and background
Requirements:
Advanced proficiency in modern Python for full lifecycle application development, from initial architecture through to production delivery.
Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining complex ETL systems and working with object-oriented/relational databases.
Direct experience developing investment banking applications within Foreign Exchange (FX), Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, or Prime Brokerage.
Demonstrated ability to assume architecture duties, design system blueprints, and conduct complex technology assessments.
Track record of driving long-term, enterprise-scale projects through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Strong communication skills to support, advise, and consult with internal business clients and technical management.
