IT Search has partnered with a rapidly scaling international medical devices company that is establishing a new engineering function in Dublin. They are hiring two Senior Embedded Software Engineers to take ownership of low-level embedded development for a regulated, safety critical device.
This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on Nordic BLE SoCs and Zephyr RTOS. You will work close to the hardware, dealing with peripherals, power management, and real-time control, while helping shape the firmware architecture and engineering standards from an early stage.
The Opportunity
You will design and develop embedded software for a connected medical device, working closely with electronics, systems and quality teams. The role requires strong low-level expertise and comfort working directly with microcontrollers, drivers, and hardware interfaces.
Key Responsibilities & Experience
Develop embedded C firmware on Nordic BLE microcontrollers using Zephyr RTOS
Work close to the hardware, including drivers, interrupts, and power management
Implement and optimise BLE communication and custom GATT services
Contribute to firmware architecture, testing, and regulatory verification activities
Strong embedded C background with hands-on Nordic and Zephyr experience
Experience in safety critical or regulated environments with solid debugging capability
These are key early hires into a newly forming engineering team, with real ownership over low-level firmware on a safety critical, patient-facing device. You’ll be working close to the hardware, influencing architecture from the start, and joining a company with strong backing, competitive compensation, and long-term growth potential.
