Lead Software Engineer

IT Search has partnered with a global leader in IoT solutions as they continue to expand. Our client is transforming how businesses and individuals interact with the world through cutting-edge smart technologies. They are currently looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join their team and lead a group of talented engineers in shaping the future of connected solutions.
In this role, you’ll manage a small team, stay hands-on with coding for around 30% of your time, and provide technical leadership. You’ll oversee solution design, architecture, and cloud integration, while driving CI/CD practices and improving development workflows. Additionally, you’ll focus on troubleshooting, peer reviews, and mentoring to support team growth and collaboration.
What you need:
- 6+ years of software development experience, with strong expertise in building scalable, distributed systems
- Proficiency in PHP and Laravel, with experience in other programming languages e.g. Python, TypeScript etc.
- Expertise in designing and maintaining automated CI/CD
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies, databases and caching systems
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide, motivate, and mentor teams to deliver high-quality solutions
The expected starting salary for this role is €100K, plus a bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. This position is based in the Limerick office, with an expectation to be onsite ideally twice per week, though there may be flexibility regarding this requirement.
