Head of Platforms & Engineering

Head of Platforms & Engineering opportunity with a healthcare organisation based in South Dublin. This is a senior leadership role with ownership of digital platform strategy, software engineering and data / analytics across a complex, highly regulated environment.
 
This is a key appointment focused on building scalable platforms and internal capability, enabling long-term digital transformation across clinical and operational systems. The role partners closely with the CIO and wider executive team.
 
Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the digital platform, application and data strategies
• Technical leadership across architecture, platform design and development standards
• Identify and implement opportunities for AI and automation
• Oversee data platforms and drive adoption of predictive analytics
• Embed security, data protection and compliance (GDPR, NIS2) into platforms and development processes
• Build and lead high-performing development and data teams
• Own budget and resource planning across platforms, development and analytics

 
Experience

• 10+ years in Software Engineering / Data Science with experience at Head of / Director level
• Experience leading Data and/or Software Engineering teams using Agile, DevOps and CI/CD.
• Experience developing and/or implementing AI automation and advanced analytics solutions
• Knowledge of predictive analytics concepts and data-driven decision making.
• Understanding of hospital operations / EHRs is desirable
