Head of Cyber Security (CISO)

Job Details

Head of Cyber Security (CISO) opportunity with a healthcare company based in south Dublin. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of cyber strategy, risk and security operations across a complex, highly regulated environment.
 
This is a key appointment with direct impact on protecting critical systems, sensitive data and ensuring operational resilience. The role partners closely with the CIO and wider executive team.
 
Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver business cybersecurity strategy and roadmap
  • Provide executive-level guidance on cyber risk, threats and mitigation
  • Lead security operations, including incident response and major event escalation
  • Establish and oversee SOC capability and system-wide monitoring
  • Own risk management, governance and compliance (GDPR, NIS2, etc.)
  • Define security architecture, policies and standards across IT and digital programmes
  • Build and lead the cybersecurity function
  • Budget & Resource Management

 
Experience

  • 10+ years in cybersecurity / information security with experience at Head of / Director / CISO level
  • Bachelor’s degree and professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering cybersecurity strategies in a regulated environment (HIQA exp is desirable)
  • Strong background in security operations, incident response and risk management
  • Deep understanding of core security technologies (SIEM, IAM, endpoint, firewalls etc)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)
  • Experience building and leading security teams
