The Opportunity
We are looking for a heavy-hitting Solution Architect to take the reins of a high-profile, multi-year transformation for one of Ireland’s leading retail banks.
This isn’t a “sit back and advise” role. You will be the technical orchestrator for a massive E2E ecosystem, bridging the gap between legacy mainframe excellence and cutting-edge AWS cloud components. If you enjoy the challenge of harmonizing APIs, Payments (GPPSP), and complex Channel changes into one robust design, this is for you.

The Day-to-Day

• Architectural Ownership: Act as the E2E Design Authority for Project, ensuring every component aligns with the broader business vision.
• Collaboration: Work across diverse delivery squads—from Mainframe and Core Services to AWS and API developers—to ensure a seamless technical flow.
• Governance & Security: Lead the charge at the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and partner with ISR teams to ensure security is baked into the design, not bolted on.
• Stakeholder Influence: Represent the bank in high-level industry discussions with third-party vendors and other financial institutions.

Your Technical Toolkit
To hit the ground running, you’ll need a deep understanding of complex banking environments:

• Modern & Legacy Integration: Proven experience with APIs, AWS Cloud components, and Mainframe environments.
• Payments Expertise: Specific knowledge of GPPSP (Global PayPlus) and core payment service changes is highly desirable.
• Governance Mastery: Expert at producing HLDs, Architecture Summaries, and navigating the ARB process.
• Security First: Experience working with Information Security & Risk (ISR) teams to remediate gaps in complex designs.
