Principal Cloud Engineer – Dublin South Remote/Hybrid
Our client is a world-renowned leader in the area of medical devices and is currently expanding the Irish team and they have engaged IT Search to speak to a Principal Engineer to help design and execute highly scalable and secure systems, working closely with counterparts in the USA.
This will suit a very senior Engineer comfortable working across teams, leading delivery of architectures and significant knowledge within AWS and Serverless Computing who is looking for a new challenge and is eager to take on this key role in the years to come.
Role Responsibilities
Bring Technical leadership to a small but growing local team while working closely with a global team of peers
Understanding, documenting and executing top down decisions from CTO and C level team
Work on Product Architecture used daily by millions of users globally
Take responsibility for teams of engineers, mentoring and guiding to bring teams on this journey
Requirements
15+ years of post grad commercial experience, recent expertise on AWS Serverless a must
Ability to work in a well established global team and locally for a relatively new team
Any experience in deploying mobile aspects of SaaS at scale will be welcome
Exceptional communication skills, would suit candidates who regularly speak at conferences, subject matter experts looking to grow their depth of experience
Knowledge of driving AWS strategies but the ability and desire to remain “hands on”
Traditional areas of DevOps (monitoring, CI/CD, IaC etc)
This is a senior position, attracting a significant salary and package, will require occasional liaison outside of local working hours (with USA), onsite visits to the Dublin South will be required at least on a weekly basis (likely two/three days initially) with annual international travel.
