Sourcing Methodology
Stage 1 - Briefing and Initial Market Exploration
The Account Manager and relevant Search Consultant will take a job briefing.
This briefing information typically will include:
- The organization and the specific business in question.
- Responsibilities and deliverables of the role.
- Key stakeholder involvement.
- The 360-competency profile – ideal skills, knowledge and attributes of the person versus market availability based on exploratory market intelligence.
- Candidate assessment criteria
Step 2 - Market Mapping, Research and Engagement (Screening)
Building a strong pool of suitably qualified candidates drawing from our extensive local and international reach. As specialists in our individual fields, each Search Consultant in Vertical Markets Group, has established a highly relevant and mature contact base across various industries and functions. These local and international networks have been developed over many years through academic studies, work experience, ongoing networking activity and memberships of industry Associations. We have strong and long-lasting relationships with a range of leading global organisations who facilitate our access to top international talent. These networks span Ireland, the UK, Europe, the US and Asia Pac. Vertical Markets Group has over 20 live industry specific websites, creating a more visible and accessible platform to raise the profile of any requirements. Any external advertising would of course be subject to pre-approval and all requirements are treated with the utmost confidentiality. The majority of our success comes from our pro-active approach to networking and relationship building rather than advertising, we have also numerous several search tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Google Alerts, Change Tower and more) to provide alternative candidate pipelines. We have an Internal database called Invenias, consists of 50K+ carefully curated and managed candidate profiles from all of our core verticals and experience levels and a customised Applicant Tracking System to include specific tagging capabilities to ensure we can identify quickly and effectively specific talent.
Competency Based Interview
In our interviews we set out to ensure that we can complete each part of the approved assessment criteria – this will allow us to compare each of the candidates on the list at the end of the process in an objective and equitable way in keeping with DEI Recruiting best practice. Once qualified and we will present a full shortlist to the client for review summarising the following:
- Suitability and fit for the role and organisation?
- Motivation for a move?
- Any gaps in experience that may be relevant?
- Confirmation salary / pay rates in line with agreed budget Notice period?
- Any other material matters worth highlighting?
Stage 3 - Interviewing and Selection
We ensure all candidates being interviewed by the clients are fully prepared. Once interviews have taken place, we take detailed feedback from the candidates and collate this feedback into a comprehensive document for review.
Stage 4 - Offer Management, Credential Vetting and Due Diligence
Once the final selection has been made, we work with the client to plan and make the verbal offer and will conduct thorough background checks and referencing according to Vertical Markets standards but also in line with client requirements to ensure the utmost standards of due diligence are maintained.
