Technical Support Engineer

Technical Support Engineer required for a market leader in the supply and servicing of equipment to the Life Sciences, Healthcare, Industrial and Pharmacy sectors in Ireland. This is a (50/50) hybrid working role with office in Sandyford (beside green Luas)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to Internal and External Customers for all hardware platforms, applications, operating systems, database management systems
  • Escalate relevant issues to H/W engineering team / or S/W providers as necessary to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Implementation of Patching and Firmware Upgrades
  • Occasional travel (1-2 times per month) to Client sites across Ireland for project kick off meetings
  • Be available or on call cover 1 week in 6 weeks (very low volume of out of hours issues arise)

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a technical support role covering: Windows Server 2012 or 2016 Admin, VMware vSphere & vCentre configuration and administration, Enterprise storage, Patching and Firmware, Azure, SQL Server etc
  • ITIL knowledge
  • PowerShell administration/scripting skills desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must have own transport for occasional site visits (mileage allowance provided)
