Seeking a seasoned Service Architect to provide technical leadership and end-to-end oversight for mission-critical banking services. Based onsite in Dublin (2-3 days per week), you will act as the technical authority for a specific service tower, bridging the gap between business owners and global delivery teams to ensure high availability and technical excellence.
*1 year contract expected to roll/extend *2-3 days onsite in Dublin *Daily rate 475-525 per day
The Role You will be the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the technical health of a major service area. This is a high-impact role that balances proactive architecture management with reactive incident leadership, ensuring that outsourced services meet strict enterprise standards. Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Act as the lead SME for applications within your domain, providing direction to on-shore and off-shore delivery teams.
Incident Management: Own the technical resolution of complex incidents and provide leadership during Major Incidents (MIM) to minimize downtime.
Risk & Governance: Assess technical risks, manage the service risk register, and authorize infrastructure upgrades or changes that impact your service area.
Service Integrity: Define and maintain technical standards, ensuring capacity requirements, security trends, and corporate policies are strictly followed.
Vendor Oversight: Manage day-to-day technical relationships with managed service providers to ensure delivery meets or exceeds SLAs.
Documentation: Own and review all technical artifacts, knowledge management repositories, and recovery/contingency plans.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience focused on Java-based applications.
Domain Expertise: Deep experience with Retail or Online Banking applications.
Frameworks: Strong knowledge of ITIL and ISO frameworks.
Managed Services: Proven experience working within an IT outsourcing/managed services environment.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead through others, establishing effective controls and monitoring processes for global teams.
Problem Solving: Expertise in navigating high-pressure environments and resolving complex service delivery issues.
Communication: Ability to present technical concepts in business-friendly language and influence senior stakeholders.
