Head of Software Engineering We are seeking a Head of Software Engineering for a brand new Greenfield operation which will be based in Galway City. There is an onsite requirement for the first few months of 3 days per week and 2 days WFH.

Your background
Strong software development background (10+ years)
6+ years of experience at senior management
Large-scale project management and strategic planning
Experience with quickly developing a site from origination, creating required processes and procedures, establishing strong external partnerships, and acquiring and developing strong talent.
Strong strategic thinking skills and ability to translate this strategy into operational goals.
Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively across a matrixed environment and all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead, grow, and develop employees within an organization, providing mentorship and developing a strong leadership pipeline.
Excellent financial, analytical, and change management skills required.
Responsibilities
Manage overall operations including planning, budgeting, execution, reporting, and talent operations.
Serve as a liaison between our company and strategic partners (e.g. IDA)
Build multi-functional teams to define, design, and solution advanced technical capabilities relevant to our Digital Strategy
Manage operations, financials, activity portfolio, and partners across product and Software
Development teams
Collaborate with our U.S Digital Leadership to identify, prioritize, and manage strategic projects and/or initiatives.
Enhance the Company’s brand in Ireland and operate as a global thought leader on important and relevant topics to the company.
Lead the full lifecycle of development from concept to post-production support and maintenance of server / OS / desktop / web / mobile applications and services.
Recruit, hire, grow, and manage top talent for the company in Ireland
Build and lead a team of developers, architects, and quality analysts to create measurable value and deliver software to market using industry recognized agile methodologies and best practices.
Lead the architecture, technical design, and delivery of features and capabilities on modern technology stacks.
Develop, measure and report success metrics – KPIs such as velocity, capacity, cost of delay, bug rates, etc.
