Digital Applications Team Lead

The IT Applications team operates across all four key operational sites in Dublin and Belfast and is responsible for the development and support of Digital and Corporate Applications which includes core business critical systems, for example the Energy Management System (EMS), Market Management System (MMS) and a other Enterprise solutions. As we transition to a low-carbon energy future, this is an opportunity for someone to make a real impact in our IT Applications team within the People and Information Office.
Role Description
The IT Applications team has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Digital and Corporate Applications Team Lead, based in either our office in Dublin or Belfast leading a team across both locations.
In this position you will be joining a team in the early stages of our digital journey inline with our IT Strategy, supporting key corporate applications and systems across the the group.
The Digital and Corporate Applications Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the team can proactively maintain availability, support and further enhance Business Operational systems, driving change and service improvements while enhancing the experience of our customers and stakeholders.
The role holder is responsible for planning and managing the programme of work for the Digital and Corporate Applications team working closely within the IT Applications function, wider CPIO directorate and Business Change teams to ensure that the complex needs of our business are met. The team will provide support of a range of applications including ERP Systems, Customer Relationship Management Systems, Settlements Systems, Metering Solutions, Group Websites, SharePoint and other Digital Solutions and Business Tools.
You will be responible for 3rd Party Support Partner engagement and management and will be required to build strong relationships and manage the service delivery in line with Service Level Agreements and contractual obligations.

Reporting to the Head of IT Applications.
Key Responsibilities
- The role holder will be responsible for the following:
- Lead a team located in Dublin and Belfast in supporting and maintaining the availability of all existing and new business operational Digital and Corporate Applications within the remit of the IT Applications function.
- Manage relationships with third party support partners, including oversight and management of contracts and service level agreements, ensuring service review meetings take place, prioritising issues and ensuring compliance with service level argeements.
- Provide effective stakeholder management, ensuring communications processes are maintained.
- Responsible for Release Management of all systems within the Digital and Corporate Applications Team.
- Assessment of technical problems followed by the tracking and co-ordination of issue resolution, sometimes on an emergency basis.
- Lead the management of escalated incidents, managing key stakeholders and ensuring alignment with the Incident Management process.
- Contribute to Digital Systems governance and key decisions.
- Develop and engage in Service Improvement plans, driving forward change in relation to the services provided within the Digital and Corporate Appplication area
- Ensure that appropriate business continuity, risk management programmes and incident reporting procedures are implemented and in place.
- Support the introduction of new tools, processes and technologies including the provision of support and resource capability to deliver projects.
- Support project delivery across the CPIO directorate; providing input on requirements, design reviews, deployment and supporting transition to support.
- Develop and implement Digital and Corporate Applications roadmaps to ensure services remain current and supportable.
- Allocate team resources to meet priorities, manage operational issues as they arise, coach staff, provide technical expertise and act as an escalation point.
- Report on team progress against service levels, escalating risks and issues as required.
- Develop Digital and Corporate Applications Team identifying training requirements and maintaining cross-jurisdictional skills ensuring support silos do not exist.
- Represent the company externally at conferences and events.
- Review and develop internal procedures, processes and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with security patching policy across IT Applications function.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essentials:
- Third level qualification in a IT discipline, typically with 8+ years relevant experience.
- Experience leading people to deliver on business priorities and positvely impacting a function’s ability to drive transformative change.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Effective communicator, both in verbal and written communications to business and technical audiences.
- Passionate about the employee and stakeholder experience, strong service and customer orientation, and commercially focused.
- Significant experience in the disciplines of Application Support, Service Management, Service Delivery, and Incident and Problem Management in a complex IT environment.
- Expert at managing the delivery of critical services through 3rd party vendors.
- Demonstratable track record of Project and Change delivery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent resource planning, organisation and time management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in the energy or utility sectors.
- Experience of Project Delivery methodologies, such as PRINCE2.
- Experience of best-practice delivery of IT services using ITIL.
